Rapicut has a well-equipped plant at Ankleshwar to manufacture sintered Tungsten Carbide products. The manufacturing has various Intermediate stages such as:
- Reduction of Tungsten Oxide (WO3) to Tungsten Metal (W) Powder in a controlled atmosphere in a continuous pusher type furnace.
- Carburising of Tungsten Metal (W) with pure Carbon powder in a Carburising furnace to Tungsten Carbide (WC) Powder.
- Milling of Tungsten Carbide (WC) along with binder like Cobalt metal and other alloying elements to ready to press (RTP) Powder.
The products at these intermediate stages are individually saleable. Rapicut offers all the Intermediate products to the customers.
- In addition, Fused Tungsten Carbide (FTC) Powder is also manufactured for matrix mixture for various applications and for hard facing rods.

- Total Carbon: (2.5 - 3.5) %
- Specification of Mesh size (ASTM) : Range varying from 40 mesh to 700 mesh in specified upper and lower limits e.g. -40 + 200, -100 + 300, -400 + 600
- Ordering style : FTC -100 + 200 i.e. Powder is sieved through 100 mesh sieve and collected in 200 mesh sieve
- Application : It improves hardness & shining of Tungsten Alloy to be used for diamond segment, chain saw beads, grinding wheels, scape, core bits etc
- Packing : All the above Intermediates are available in 1 Kg, 2.5 Kg Vacuum packing or plastic bottles and 25 Kg iron drums. Note : Any particular Intermediate product requirement can be discussed.
